Detailed Itinerary

Day 01| local people in nomad festivalArrival in Paro to Thimphu (1.2 hrs)
Flight to Bhutan offers spectacular views of the world highest mountains including Mount
Everest. On arrival in Paro international airport our Guide will receive you and transfer to Thimphu, approximately an hour drive. Upon arrival we will check into the hotel. Afternoon visit Memorial Chorten built in memory of the late 3rd King. Thereafter, drive to visit the largest and newly built statue of Buddha offering magnificent view of entire Thimphu valley. After 5 pm visit Tashi chodzong which has the king's throne.

Overnight in Thimphu, Altitude 2400m.

Day 02| Thimphu Sightseeing
Morning visit the weekend market (Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday), Hand made paper
Mill, School of Arts and crafts where students learn 13 different arts used predominantly in Bhutan. Visit Changangkha Lhakhang, the oldest temple in the valley, Enclosure where national animal, Takin are kept and Zilukha Nunnery.After lunch drive to the north of Thimphu and visit Tango Monastery which is located 14 kilometres, near Cheri Mountain.Evening back to hotel.

Day 03| Thimphu to Punakha (2.5 hrs)
punakha jong, bhutan tourCheck out from the hotel after our delicious breakfast.We will drive to Punakha over dochula
pass at 3050m. If the weather permits we can enjoy a spectacular view of the highest mountains of Bhutan at a site that stretches almost 180 degrees. En-route we will take evening hike to Chimi Lhakhang temple of fertility which associated with religious arts of phallus. Visit Druk Wangyal Lhakhang and enjoy the beautiful views and evening we will visit beautiful Punakha

Overnight in Punakha, altitude 1350m

Day 04| Punakha – Jakar tours (7 Hrs)
Check out of the hotel and visit Chimi Lhakhang on foot, the temple of fertility associated with
religious art of phallus. Drive over Pelela Pass at 3300m which forms the part of Black Mountain Range that divides the country into east and west. Drive through Trongsa and pass by the highest road pass in your trip at 3425m (Yotong La). En route stop at the weaving place where "Yatha" (wool weaving) is made which Bumthang is famous for.

Overnight: Jakar | Altitude: 2650m

Day 05 | Jakar sightseeing (NOMAD FESTIVAL)

nomad festival 2014 bhutanEarly morning start your drive to Nasiphel, under Chhokhortoe gewog for the Nomad Festival
taking place. Its an approx 1 hour drive from the main town. For the whole day you can witness the different programs organized and interact with the local people. Today you will have a good chance to know the Bhutanese people. Join the Tashi Lebay dance (Closing ceremony dance) with all the people at the end of the day. Evening back hotel and rest.

Overnight in Jakar.

Day 06 | Jakar Sightseeing
Visit Jampay Lakhang, the one of the first 2 Buddhist temples built in the country. This is the
home of the naked dance that is still performed annually. Visit Kurjey temple, the site where the royals are cremated. One can either walk cross the suspension bridge and visit the village of Parar and Tamshing on foot or drive there. End your day with a walk passing by the Swiss farm. Evening stroll in Jakar town and try some local pancake and noodles.

Day 07 | Jakar to Phobjikha (6 hrs)
Today we will have an early departure for the lengthy drive to Phobjikhakha, valley of black
necked cranes. Upon entering the valley we will pay homage to Gangtey Gonpa before checking into the resort. If time permits we will take beautiful 2 hour natural hike from the gompa to nearby road head. Walk or bike around the feeder road of Phobjikha valley meeting locals and students. Evening drive to the north of the valley to the small village and meet with the local and see the traditional Bhutanese house.

Overnight in Phobjikha, Altitude 2900m.

Check out from the hotel and retrace our drive to Paro via Wangdue, dochula and Thimphu. . In
Paro, visit the National Museum, the first of its kind which has a collection from natural history to religious paintings. Visit 17 century Paro Dzong (Fortress) on foot and continue walking through the oldest wooden bridge still in use.
Evening stroll old Paro town and peep into some local handicrafts stores. One can also venture to try local restaurant for dinner.

Overnight: Paro | Altitude: 2200m

Day 09 | Paro – Haa – Paro (5 Hrs)
Visit the temples of Dzongdrakha on foot which studs the rock cliff. Continue driving to Haa
over the Chelela Pass, your highest point of the trip at 3800m. When the weather permits one can view the most scared mountain in the country Mt. Jomolhari (7314m). Visit the quiet, timeless Haa valley with a picnic lunch.

Overnight: Paro

Day 10 | Paro sightseeing
Morning after the breakfast, we will take awesome hike Bhutan's most revered monuments, the
Taktshang Goemba, more commonly referred to as the "Tiger's Nest". The four-hour trek offers spectacular views of this sacred monastery perched on vertical cliff surface at 900m above the valley floor. After lunch, we will visit drukgyen ruin Dzong and national museum if time permits.

Overnight in Paro

Day 11 | Departure
The tour will end today. After the breakfast, we will transfer you to the airport for your departure

Transportation and Travel situation in Bhutan
Ground transportation is by private  vehicles based on number of travelers. we provide clean Air conditioning  and  heat in vehicles . expect bad roads with uphill and narrow tracks too, travel time might delay due to weather too.

Many thanks for organizing such a wonderful tour for us. This will remain our unforgettable trip! We felt so lucky that we were able to visit your beautiful country during the 30th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Bhutan and Japan.

We spent one night in Thimphu, two nights in Phunakha, and two nights in Paro. Phunaka's Lobesa hotel became one of the most impressive splendid hotels we have ever stayed! Its view from the window was just gorgeous and took our breath away.

Nawang was a knowledgeable, kind and caring guide and we learned a lot about your beautiful country from him. Ugay was a safe driver and we felt so comfortable in the lovely Nissan four wheels.

The tour was both very informative and fun. In addition, Nawang accommodated many of our requests and re-arranged the original schedule to our satisfaction. Going to the weekend market in Thimphu became one of the highlights of this tour for us !

We'd like to visit Bhutan again in the future and we will definitely ask you again to organize tour for us.
